Our First Magazine Cover - Posted by Sue, February 26, 2009

What a nice surprise to find ourselves on the cover of the Ontario Council Of Folk Festivals Winter 2009 Edition of Folk Prints Magazine! The photo was taken in October 2008 at a workshop on songwriting we did as part of the OCFF’s Art Beat Program. The program is designed to give artists an opportunity to share their music with students, seniors, and patients in the host community of the annual OCFF Conference.

We were at Arch Street Public School. It was great experience for us. The teachers and kids were awesome.

Live Radio Debut - Posted by Sue, October 19, 2008 (I meant to post this ages ago)

On July 15, 2008 we were invited to be the musical guests on CIUT’s Take5 - hosted by Rachel Hahn. One of the topics that day was the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, which is scheduled to open in our hometown (Winnipeg) in 2012 so that was pretty cool. We had a great time…the folks at CIUT were awesome!

COBOURG - A pair of Manitoba transplants bring their roots-based harmonies and soulful guitars to a Cobourg nightspot this weekend. On Friday, Sept. 21, from 8-10 p.m., The Human Bean presents ‘Sue and Dwight’ with songs from their debut Indie album, ‘Darlings of the Open Stage’, a tribute to open stage performers everywhere who take the spotlight each night for 10 minutes of fame. The duo’s musical style is described as lyrical and insightful stories about rolling prairies, small towns and big city streets with themes of peace and social justice on an acoustic cushion of laid-back guitars.Sue Peters, who provides vocals and acoustic guitar, says although Friday night’s gig is their debut Cobourg performance, the couple visited while recording their CD. At that time, they were carrying beach umbrellas.”We hit that creative wall so we hopped on a train and headed to the beach at Victoria Park to chill out, relax and regroup,” says Ms. Peters. “It was very therapeutic.”The Human Bean located in downtown Cobourg at 80 King St. W.
